Behold!

Hippo sculpture, New Hope, Pennsylvania.
Behold the hippopotamus!
We laugh at how he looks to us,
And yet in moments dank and grim,
I wonder how we look to him.

Peace, peace, thou hippopotamus!
We really look all right to us,
As you no doubt delight the eye
Of other hippopotami.

Nice hippo photos.

I just noticed you live in Philly. Well, maybe I noticed before and it just hit me. Anyway, what area do you live in? My son is a manager of a Subway there. Around Phoenixville area.

What a great shot! I wasn't sure if it was real at first. I love that poem too. This was a very entertaining post!

Hi lv2scpbk,

I live in a little neighborhood in the northwestern section of Philadelphia called Blue Bell Hill.

It is near the border of the West Mt. Airy and West Germantown sections of the city.

Funny position they put this guy in! The water spitting out is cool. Where was it taken? Maybe you said it and I've forgotten already...Senior moment and I'm all of 42.

Hi just roaming,

All of the pictures this week were taken in New Hope, Pennsylvania, along the Delaware River.
