If their relationship lasts as long as the scar they've put into the trunk of this beech they'll be doing well.

I think Pat and I did something like this on a tree over 52 years ago and wonder if it is still there.
Your photography is nice as it always is. I will comment more at another time as I just returned from hospital and am not back to normal.
