I love the contrast between the berries in sharp focus and the soft background. That's so beautiful! I've never knew the name of these trees before. I'll have to remember that!

I don't have a Hawthorne anymore but once did. It had thorns on it larger and longer than any needle my wide or mother had at the time. I was always amazed that squirrels could jump into it and run through it without being impaled.

This photo is nicer than those I just took of crabapples. I was hoping but it doesn't look good to me. I like your photo a lot better.

Greetings Dan :) I came by from Abe's blog and what a lovely sight. Now I know how a hawthorn berry looks like.

You see, we have this 'flatted' hawthorn flakes from China and it is candied and packed into little tubes. We have this when we were young but with the tainted milk scare now not many pple are buying stuff from China.
