Both are nice photographs, Dan. I sometimes get to go along rivers or creeks like this one and am always fascinated by what I see there or don't see there. From snakes to fish in pools to turtles. Not many birds though.
This looks like a great place to listen to the water and relax. Or another thing I like to do is walk and explore the wooded areas (and hopefully not bump into poisonous itchy plants.) Have a great weekend :)
"BACK THE CREEK"- thanks for letting me here that great phrase again. Having visited the Wissahickon everyday for 5 years(walking the dog, biking, hiking) and now live in Virginia, I miss hearing a phrase that I heard every now and again from my neighbors while I was living on "the WALL" in Manayunk.
Blue Bell Hill, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Dan Allen lives in Philadelphia's Blue Bell Hill neighborhood. He eats a lot of cheese, drinks a lot of beer, and thinks that you should too. He also loves to write and talk about these and other things pertaining to good food and drink. As much as possible, he follows a locavore life style, meaning that most of what he eats, drinks, and writes about is local to Philadelphia and environs. (By the way, he tends to go on and on about all this, so unless you have a lot of time on your hands, it's best that you not get him started.)

Creeks are so soothing.....have a good weekend!
I know what you mean about 2nd photos. Sometimes you can't choose and have to post two. Nice photos.
